Of times gone by
This is how we learnt every time we went out from school. Places, people, colour, and movement, parks and roads and us, we were a part of all that was happening.
Young children need real life experiences to learn. 3 dimensional understandings. Touching, feeling, throwing, constructing, DOING.
and now this year we are reduced to virtual reality.A two dimensional screen –time, an online experience of watching and limited interaction.
Having seen and known how much joy we have found and the immense understandings that have grown with it,our online efforts can only be called limiting. We have strived and parents have come up with immense support for the Home Learning Programme, there is a feeling of being deprived for a whole year. It is time to consider the
The long term implications of this loss and think more of the needs of the children.
