"The first patch of Sunflowers started growing in 1973 and the children began to come to school..."

It is 25 years and we have not grown in number, but the place and the people, i.e. us here and you..wherever you are, have grown..

We have changed some and learnt some and so must you have. We learnt to play more and more.. We also realized that real things are more fun to do like cooking, gardening, making things and to go  and see all the things around us.

The smiles are wider and the sun is warmer out here...

We miss all the children who have gone away; their pictures, paintings and photographs still remind us of them.

In 1983 we had a dual school, i.e. an afternoon free session from the ages of 3 to 14. These children had been to school but needed help. We tried to play Street games and Traditional games together and thought it was a good way to learn.

"Street Games and Traditional Games for Early Learners" developed out of this experiment and was published by UNICEF.
